Based on responses from 9,500 wireless customers who all contacted their provider’s customer service departments within the past six months, J.D. Powers and Associates released the results of its Wireless Customer Care Performance Study – Volume 1.

Verizon Wireless tops the chart for the second time.  Verizon took the top spot with an index score of 753 (out of a 1,000).  The industry average is 739.  Verizon’s  high score is a result of their ability to identify and resolve customers’ problems quickly and efficiently through phone calls and visits to their retail locations.

Followed closely is T-Mobile with a score of 752.  AT&T comes in at 733 and Sprint/Nextel at 721.
